Maternity Sessions

Here's a little fact that may surprise you: Many of the pregnant mothers I photograph are at some point hesitant about having their photographs taken. While some take to pregnancy very well, it's not uncommon to feel uncomfortable in your changing body. And as someone who's been there three times and done that three times. I know that bloating and dry skin and general discomfort are real issues to contend with.

But let me fill you in on a not-so-secret secret. You and your growing child = Beautiful. There's a glow, an unparalleled luminescence that radiates from a pregnant woman; about you during pregnancy that can never be recreated. Right now you're a type of beautiful that is literally impossible to replicate. Unless, of course, you become pregnant again! The light from within, the fact that your best friend is developing inside of you, all of that makes for some of the most beautiful images you could imagine. What I'm saying is that you shouldn't let your discomfort stop you from getting maternity photos. You may regret it if you don't have those images to look back on in the years down the road.

Essentially, my goal is to bring out that natural beauty of a woman with child. I also love experimenting with pops of color and texture. I do have some recommendations for excellent, photo-worthy maternity apparel should you need ideas. As someone who's very familiar with capturing the most flattering and beautifying angles of people, it's my job to make sure you look your absolute best, even if you're feeling a little uncomfortable or self conscious, as is natural while pregnant.

Once we actually begin your maternity session, I'll make sure you're absolutely comfortable. We'll try all sorts of different poses and angles and you'll have ample time to change into different outfits, as well. And I'll only photograph what you want captured. I can do bare baby bumps or clothed bumps. I can do soft and romantic as well. These thoughtful, artistic maternity photos of you will be treasured by you, your significant other, your friends and family and, yes, your unborn child, forever.

$ 199 Gender Reveal Session Intro:

A gender reveal session can go two ways, and I'm delighted to photograph either!

First Route: Some people prefer to wait until their gender reveal photo session to actually find out the sex of their child. The goal here is to capture the element of genuine surprise in all of their photographs. These photos tend to convey raw emotion, including happy tears, gleeful squeals and giant smiles.

When gender reveal sessions are done this way, the parents get their physician to seal an envelope with the sex of their child, which is then given to a close family member or friend -- or cake baker -- who keeps the secret and helps plan the session.

Second Route: This second option, which tends to be the more popular one, is when parents already know the sex of their unborn child. Their goal with a gender reveal session is to creatively reveal what they already know to all their friends and family! This is how I did both of my gender reveal sessions, as well (mostly because I wanted to discover my baby's sex ASAP).

Whatever you choose, know that this session is definitely going to be a blast. And it requires very little energy spent on your part, as well! During your consultation, we'll discuss the various creative ways we can reveal your baby's gender to the world and then, should you prefer, I'll take it upon myself to do most of the planning for you.

6 Ideas for Your Gender Reveal:

I must admit that gender reveal photographs are some of my most favorite. There's something about being there -- and capturing -- the thrill of parents learning their baby's sex that gets me going! Oh, and in case you didn't know, a gender reveal session is exactly what it sounds like: images of the parents finding out (or sharing) their baby's gender in a creative way!

  •  A cake that's white on the outside but either pink or blue on the inside
  • A treasure chest or box that releases helium-filled pink or blue balloons
  • A pie filled with either red strawberries or blueberries
  • Blue or pink confetti/glitter dropped on top of you from above
  • Ice cream cones with either pink or blue ice cream scoops
  • Mom and Dad holding a pink or blue umbrella
